Musashi (武蔵)
Shadow of Two Blades
Legend speaks of Musashi (武蔵) — a master whose strength lay not only in the sword but also in strategy. His name bears two characters: 武 “martial artistry” and 蔵 “hidden force”. No one ever knew when he might appear, nor whose blade would soon lie at his feet.
Rumors swirled around his past. Some claimed he was the son of a great general; others said he was raised among bandits. Musashi himself insisted he had neither clan nor name—only the way of the sword.
Musashi fought with two katana: one to parry incoming strikes, the other to deliver the fatal blow. Foes heard only the ring of steel before their final breath. His duels lasted mere moments, and he slipped away like a shadow.
On the Stone Bridge he single-handedly faced dozens of warriors. He glided among them, his blades moving like a sudden gust of wind. When the clash was over, Musashi had already vanished, leaving only terror in the hearts of those who survived.
At the end of his journey he discovered a place where the sword is but the extension of one’s spirit. There he joined the ancient Samurmeow Clan, a brotherhood of cat-samurai whose masters pass his name in hushed tones to their students. They say that if, while traveling, you feel an unseen presence, be prepared: Musashi may still be near, testing whether you are worthy to be called a samurai.
